Learner Policies and Downloads
Find the policies and procedures that explain how assessment works, how to get support, and what to do if you want to raise a concern or appeal an assessment decision. Every document is available in English and Arabic.
Programme availability, intakes and entry requirements are confirmed by Admissions.
Learner Handbook
Read this first. It explains how your programme works and links to every policy on this page.
Learner Handbook
Start here. Your guide to studying with us: expectations, attendance, assessment and feedback, academic integrity, support, safeguarding, appeals and complaints.
Assessment and academic integrity
How your work is set, marked and checked, and what counts as your own work.
Assessment Policy
How assessments are planned, submitted, marked and quality-checked, including deadlines and resubmissions.
Academic Integrity, Plagiarism and AI Use Policy
What counts as your own work, how to reference sources, when AI tools may be used, and what happens if malpractice is suspected.
Appeals and complaints
Two separate routes. Use the one that matches your situation.
Use this if you disagree with an assessment decision
Academic Appeals Procedure
For when you believe a grade, result or malpractice decision is wrong because the assessment was not carried out fairly or the procedure was not followed.
Use this if you are unhappy with a service or how you were treated
Learner Complaints Procedure
For concerns about teaching, support, facilities, communication or the way you were treated. A complaint is not the route for challenging a mark.
Accessibility and learner support
Help with access to assessment and the support available while you study.
Reasonable Adjustments and Special Consideration Policy
How to ask for changes to assessment arrangements, and what to do if illness or another event affects an assessment.
Learner Support Policy
The academic, wellbeing and practical support available to you and how to ask for it.
Safeguarding and safety
Keeping every learner safe, and how to raise a concern.
Safeguarding Policy
How the institute protects learners from harm and responds when there is a concern about a learner's safety or wellbeing.
How to raise a safeguarding concern
- If someone is in immediate danger, call the Royal Oman Police on 9999.
- Otherwise, speak to any member of staff as soon as you can. You do not need proof: say what you saw, heard or were told.
- Your concern will be handled sensitively and shared only with the people who need to know to keep someone safe.
